Manager/Supervisor
The Licensed Trade Qualifier is responsible for qualifying the company's trade licenses and ensuring all work is performed in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The position provides technical leadership, supervision, quality assurance, code compliance, and operational oversight for licensed trade work.
The ideal candidate holds one or more active Colorado trade licenses in Electrical, Plumbing, HVAC, or General Contracting and serves as the company's designated qualifier where permitted by law.
Primary Responsibilities
- Serve as the company's designated licensed qualifier for applicable trade licenses.
- Maintain all required professional licenses in good standing.
- Supervise and oversee all work performed under the company's licensed trades.
- Ensure compliance with Colorado statutes, local building codes, OSHA requirements, and industry standards.
- Review project scopes, estimates, permits, and technical specifications.
- Approve installation methods and ensure work meets code requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to field technicians.
- Conduct quality-control inspections and verify workmanship.
- Assist in hiring, evaluating, and training field personnel.
- Coordinate with project managers, dispatch, clients, inspectors, and subcontractors.
- Support permit applications and inspection processes.
- Investigate callbacks, warranty claims, and technical issues.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and safety practices.
- Participate in client meetings and provide technical consultation when required.
- Ensure accurate documentation, reports, photographs, and close-out records for all projects.
- Assist management with business development by providing technical expertise for proposals and major projects.
Trade Responsibilities
Depending on licenses held, responsibilities may include oversight of:
- Electrical installations, repairs, maintenance, and troubleshooting
- Plumbing systems, fixtures, piping, and mechanical equipment
- HVAC installation, maintenance, controls, refrigeration, and commissioning
- General contracting, tenant improvements, commercial renovations, and facility maintenance
- Multi-trade coordination for commercial and retail facilities
Qualifications
- Active Colorado trade license(s) in one or more of the following:
- Master Electrician
- Master Plumber
- HVAC Mechanical License (where applicable)
- General Contractor qualification (where required by jurisdiction)
- Minimum 7–10 years of commercial trade experience.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction, facility maintenance, and building systems.
- Thorough understanding of Colorado building codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to supervise multiple technicians and subcontractors.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Valid driver's license.
